Instructions
- 1Click "Start," and then click on "Run" in the bottom right side of the Start menu, across from "All Programs."
- 2Type "regedit" in the dialogue box, and click "OK." This will open the Registry Editor for your computer.
- 3Expand the "HKEY_CURRENT_USER" folder. Then, expand the "Control Panel" folder, scroll down and select "Desktop."
- 4Scroll down, and double-click on the "MenuShowDelay" file in the right panel of the Registry Editor. This is where you adjust the speed of your start menu.
- 5Change the default number in the dialogue box from 400 to 1. This adjusts the delay when opening the Start menu. Changing it to a smaller number will make it faster. Click "OK," and then close the Registry Editor.
- 6Click on "Start" again to open the Start menu. You should notice that your Start menu is much faster than before.
